Master The Basics Of Makeup

1. For best application of makeup, be sure that your skin is properly cleansed. I would invest in the Clarisonic brush which gives you a much better cleanse of your skin. If the Clarisonic brush is too expensive, be sure to properly cleanse your skin morning and night and consider using a pre-cleansing oil.

2. Use a proper toner after cleansing to balance the PH levels in the skin, and remove any left-over makeup or cleanser.

3. Use a proper moisturizer with SPF 30 and apply a primer once your moisturizer properly absorbs.

4. Apply foundation; if needed, to your cheeks, forehead, and chin using a sponger or proper foundation brush. Pay special attention to blending the foundation all the way to your hair-line and down your chin and neck.

5. Apply a concealer under your eyes and over any blemishes. Avoid using foundation to cover dark circles, as the pigment that is appropriate for your face might accentuate your dark circles.

6. Dip a powder brush in loose powder. Shake off excess to avoid uneven distribution, and apply powder over entire face and neck.

7. Use a blush that gives you a color that looks similar to when you are naturally flushed. Start at the apple of the cheek and sweep the blush up toward your brows in a small C shape.

8. Always use a eye-lash curler and apply mascara from the bottom of the lash up. As you bring the wand up, gently blink your eye.

9. Brush your lips gently with a toothbrush for gentle exfoliation, and apply a clear or tinted lip gloss.

10. Set your makeup with a makeup setting spray or evian spray bottle.
