How To Dress For Your Body Type

When making fashion decisions, your own personal figure should be the ultimate determining factor in yoru final decisions. Here are a few tips to help you dress for your body type:

1. Know you measurements and shape- Be sure you know your measurements, and your body shape. Measure your bust, waist, hips and each leg. Once you have taken your measurments, observe if you are:

Hourglass - similar on the top and bottom, and smaller around the waist
Pear- larger on the bottom than the top and waist
Rectangle- similiar measurements in bust, hips and waist,
Inverted triangle- larger on the top than the waist and bottom

Knowing your shape will allow you to make better fashion choices.

2. Place Colors Properly- If you are larger in a particular area, wear netural colors in that area. Avoid any patterns or bright colors in areas you want to minimize.

3. Find a Tailor- Always get your clothing tailored to fit you properly. This is a great investment, because your clothes will flatter your figure if you get them tailored to your personal frame.

4. Stick To What Looks Best- No matter what the trend, be sure it suits your frame. Don't feel pressured to wear anything that might not make you look your best. If you find a fabulous dress, buy it in multiple colors. Stick with what makes you look and feel great!
