It's hard to know how to layer your various skin creams & treatments, but there is a basic rule of thumb when applying face treatments.
AM
1. Cleanse
2. Tone
3. Apply antioxidant rich serum
4. Apply a moisturizer, if needed
5. Apply eye cream
6. Apply sunscreen
PM
1. Cleanse
2. Tone
3. Apply a lotion containing retinol (like RoC Multi Correxion Tone Perfecting Treatment, $14, at mst drugstores) or a prescription retin-a (Renova, Tazorac, or Avage.) Allow this to sit on the skin for 15-20 minutes.
4. Apply an antioxidant rich moisturizer (Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Green Tea ect.,)
5. Apply eye cream
Note: Do not ever use a retin-a or retinoid during the day. The sun will break it down and it will become in-effective. Don't use a glycolic acid serum or moisturizer at the same time you use a hydroquinone lightening cream, vitamin C cream, or a retinoid, because the glycolic acid will deactivate them.
