Imagine President Barack Obama singing a duet on with Al Green on the stage of American Idol! Quite surprising and unnatural thought? But the executive producer of American Idol has developed the idea and shared it on twitter.

Nigel Lythgoe, the executive producer of American Idol was extremely surprised by the amazing vocal skills of President Obama when he listened to him during a mini-performance. Earlier this month President Obama sung a bit of Al Green’s 1972 hit number ‘Let’s Stay Together’ for a subliminal campaign at the Apollo Theater. The casual campaign messaging became a huge hit and it had even increased the sales of Al Green’s original record by 490%.

If President Obama would accept the invitation, it would really be a pleasant welcoming surprise. At least people of the US with rest of the world will also come to see one more side of the history maker. And of course this will also be a lovely gift for Mrs. Obama.

Police Hunt for Missing 16 Carat Emerald and Diamond Gem Worth $1.54 million

A precious emerald and diamond gem worth $1.54 million was stolen from Four Seasons Hotel in Hong Kong. The owner, Swiss millionairess, Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele, said she had left the ring in hotel bathroom after taking it off to wash her hands and when she raced back seven minutes later but it was gone.

Police in Hong Kong are hunting for this precious gemstone ring which was stolen after its socialite owner left it in a hotel bathroom. The stunning piece is a three stone ring with 16.83 carat emerald sitting between two diamonds of 1.15 and 1.29 carats and another 674 small diamonds around the band. Hong Kong police are treating the matter as theft and a $61,770 reward has been offered for its return.

It is not yet clear whether the reward money has been offered by the police or the jewelers themselves.

A police spokesman said: 'A female foreigner left an emerald ring valued at $1.54 million in the washroom on the fourth floor of the Four Seasons Hotel in Hong Kong.

It is feared the ring could already have been disassembled and sold off through Hong Kong's network of small jewelers and pawn shops.

Originally a watchmaker, Chopard, recently signed the Hollywood star Uma Thurman to wear its products. The company was founded in 1860 by Louis-Ulysse Chopard.

It was bought by Mrs Gruosi-Scheufele’s parents, Karl and Karin Scheufele, in 1963.
