Look your best this holiday season!

The holiday season can be hectic, and can leave you little or no time to look and feel your very best. Here are a few tips to get you through the holidays looking great.

1. Stay healthy- No one looks pretty when they are sick. Avoid getting sick by keeping yourself as healthy as possible. During winter, when there isn't as much sunlight, people usually have very low vitamin D levels, which is linked to illness. This is why illness rises during the winter months. Pop vitamin C and vitamin D supplements daily to prevent getting sick. Prioritize sleep, and carry hand sanitizer in your purse to avoid spreading germs.

2. Book beauty appointments now- Take time to look through your schedule and book any beauty appointments now, before others beat you to it. You may want a facial right before Christmas to look extra glowy for a party, or a hair trim and manicure to keep yourself looking fresh. Be sure you know which treatments you want, and book accordingly.

3. Stay hydrated- As the temperature drops, it is tempting to avoid water and stick to holiday specialty drinks. These are fine in moderation, but too much caffeine will dry out your skin. Opt for herbal tea or bottled water. Use a humidifier in your bedroom every night. This will keep your skin hydrated and supple, along with making your room warm and snugly.

4. Keep snacks handy- If you are out and about shopping, keep snacks in your purse. Don't splurge on cakes and cookies while you are out-and-about, save your splurges for the big events and parties. I love carrying little pretzel or almond packets. String cheese is another good snack to carry in your purse.

5. Plan your outfits- Before the hustle and bustle of the season gets out-of-control, pick out what outfits you plan to wear to the various parties and events you have been invited to. Never wait till the last minute to choose an outfit. Make a list of what you will need to purchase and spend a day finding each element of your outfit choice. Be sure to keep this separate from shopping for others. Stay focused on what you need, and it will get done faster. Set each outfit aside and you will feel less stress when the day of your event arrives.
