Daily Billboard is loving Virgin America's newest wave of billboard ads featuring clever copy and tongue-in-cheek characters.

This latest batch replace the recent copy only billboards which featured a prominent heavily branded Virgin airplane tail, which although witty were slightly duller and certainly less impactful.

The 'Little glamour goes a long way' creative was snapped along L.A.'s Santa Monica Boulevard on May 11, whilst the 'Breath of fresh airline' and 'Sit pretty' versions were photographed on opposite sides of the road at Mission & 6th Street in San Francisco on May 15.

Interestingly enough, this 'Windy City' creative was replaced by the 'Little glamour' billboard in the same location about two weeks later, so it was either a teaser billboard or the client decided the campaign wasn't working hard enough for them without stronger visuals.
Daily Billboard still thinks the previous 2010 Virgin America ad campaign was the best with its bold, vibrant colours and eye-catching models.

These two other billboard versions were snapped along Highland Avenue and La Cienega Boulevard, respectively, on April 25, 2011.

UPDATED: Virgin's fun Fly like a Player billboard was spotted along Fairfax Avenue on July 3, 2011.

UPDATED: Here's a whole new assortment of billboards in Virgin America's latest campaign which have surfaced at the end of October and were snapped on Sunset Boulevard and La Brea Avenue on October 26, 2011.

With these fun billboards they are certainly taking on the stuffy old American airlines for supremacy in the air.

It's also nice to see an airline that can actually deliver on the promises in its advertising messages.
