It isn't always easy to be healthy 24/7. Sometimes it is the small and somewhat subtle changes that can make a big difference in your overall health. Today, you can start to make those small changes, and reap the benefits for your future.

1. Drink 2 liters of water everyday day: It is essential that you stay hydrated throughout the day. It will prevent false hunger, encourage fat loss, and maintain overall hydration. Check out this article for further details on the importance of drinking enough water

2. Start taking vitamins: I believe that a multi-vitamin is essential to your daily routine. You should also include other vitamins like:
Vitamin C which is great for your body, skin, and best of all, it inhibits the hormone Cortisol which increases belly fat. It is typical to take between 500 and 1000 mg everyday.
Vitamin D Aids in calcium absorption, which helps form and maintain strong bones. Research has shown that Vitamin D may provide protection from osteoporosis, hypertension (high blood pressure), cancer, and several autoimmune diseases. "The Institute of Medicine's current vitamin D recommendation are 200 IU for people 50 and under, 400 IU for people 51 to 70, and 600 IU for people over 70" according to Oprah.com.
Omega 3,6,9 has been shown to provide protection against cardiovascular disease, arthritis, skin conditions, depression, and other mood-related disorders.

3. Start an exercise regime: It is never too late and never too early. Stop saying "I will start tomorrow." Get out, and do it today. If you can work up a sweat for a half hour 4 times a week, that is a good start. You will feel incredible and be so happy that you did!

4. Start drinking green tea: It has unbelievable anti-aging benefits, cancer fighting antioxidants and more. The secret of green tea lies in the fact that it is rich in polyphenols, particularly EGCG( epigallocatechingallate.) EGCG is a very powerful anti-oxidant which inhibits the growth of cancer cells, and kills cancer cells without harming healthy tissue. Green tea can also prevent tooth decay. Some suggestion indicate that green tea can aid in weight loss.

5. Avoid empty calories: We should all avoid those foods that contain calories, but have no nutritional value to our bodies. This may not always be easy, but try to establish this habit. Our bodies are running off of fuel, and when we waste our daily caloric needs with calorie deficient foods, not only do we increase our chances of gaining weight, we are basically feeding our body something it must burn off, and throw away. This is very harmful to the body. Remember that the momentary satisfaction of the flavor is never worth the long term consequences.
