NARS Laguna & Orgasm Duo VS Elf Blush & Bronzing Powder Duo

DUPE ALERT!! Let me say first, that this picture doesn't do it justice. Elf has made a very similar product to the Nars Laguna & Orgasm duo. I own the ELF dupe, and the colors are much more pigmented in person.

Nars Laguna & Orgasm Duo- is a cult favorite, and very popular amongst celebrities, makeup artists, and beauty gurus. The price tag is a bit steep at $39.

Elf Blush & Bronzing Powder Duo- is pretty similar, and very pigmented. This item is much more affordable at $3.


Bottom Line- Like I always say, if you are dying to get the real deal, save your pennies!! If not, don't hesitate to get the dupe and fool them all!! =)

Lancome Hypnose Mascara VS Loreal Voluminious Carbon Black Mascara

I'm not too picky about mascara. I really like a lot of different ones, and I change them up often. There are two very popular mascaras that I wanted to compare.

Lancome Hypnose Mascara($25): Very popular amongst celebrities, and celebrity makeup artists. A bit pricey, but really gives a lot of volume. I particularly love the unique brush.

Loreal Voluminious mascara ($8): is also a celebrity favorite, and gives great volume.

Bottom Line: If you are on a budget, Loreal Voluminious mascara (in carbon black) is your new best friend. It is AMAZING! If you want to treat yourself, pick up the Lancome Hypnose mascara. I love them both equally, but simply because of price point, I will probably stick to Loreal in the future.

Moroccan Oil VS. Drustore Brand Moroccan/Argan Oil

I have been a fan of the Moroccan oil brand for a long time. Moroccan Oil ($41) smells great, and really helps protect the hair against heat damage, when applied to damp hair. I wanted to see how the drug store Moroccan Oil/Argan Oil ($6) compared to the high end version, so I picked up a bottle.

The expensive Moroccan oil feels like oil, where the drugstore brand feels more like a serum. Both are equally thick, and both smell pleasant to me. I noticed that I use a lot less of the expensive version than the drugstore version, but based on the price difference, that's not a big deal for me. The drugstore version is organic, which is definitely a plus.

Bottom Line: I really love the high-end Moroccan oil, but if your on a budget, the Moroccan Oil/Argan oil (available at most drugstores) is an excellent alternative. Moroccan/Argan oil didn't make my hair feel greasy. It penetrated the hair shaft and left my hair very soft and silky.

P.S. I also tried the Moroccan Oil/Argan Oil shampoo and conditioner. These are also very nice, and ORGANIC and sulfate free!!! YAY

U.D. All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray VS. ELF Makeup Mist & Set

After hearing rave reviews about the Urban Decay "All Nighter" Makeup Setting Spray, I picked up a bottle ($29). The spray seemed pretty promising, seeing as many people have had success with all three versions (for various skin types: "All Nighter" "Dew Me" & "De Slick). I found the spray to be satisfactory, but a little more expensive than what I desire to spend on a makeup setting spray. I also noticed that the product itself felt sticky on the skin, and didn't seem to set my makeup for the promised 16 hours.

Elf -- which is becoming one of my all time favorite makeup lines (including high-end)-- offered a Makeup Mist & Set Spray for a cool $3. I picked this up recently, and I already LOVE IT. It doesn't have that sticky feeling that the "All Nighter" has, and seems to set the makeup for a solid couple of hours. Seeing as this version is much cheaper, and essentially, does the same thing as the Urban Decay "All Nighter," I would definitely save your pennies, and choose Elf!

Shu Uemura VS Elf Eye Lash Curler

I am one girl who LOVES a beauty bargain. Alot of times, it just isn't necessary to spend your life savings on a beauty product, when there is a less expensive option available. In some cases, however, you just can't beat the real deal. I feel like this is one of those cases. Shu Uemura ($19) just tramples the Elf eyelash curler($1)in so many ways.

I have used the Shu Uemura eyelash curler for years, but recently picked up the Elf dupe to see if it had a fighting chance against my prized Shu Uemura curler. It turns out, it just doesn't have the curling power that the Shu Uemura curler has, and is much more flimsy feeling. Overall, if you are looking for a decent curler, you can't go wrong with one that works, and is only a $1! On the flip side, if you want to WOW the world with your lashes, pick up the Shu Uemura! It will last you forever, and you won't regret the extra money spent!! =)

NARS Turkish Delight VS Bonne Bell Lip Lites

I've heard so many great things about Turkish Delight lipgloss by NARS. I really wanted to purchase it, but I felt the price point was just too ridiculous for a lip gloss ($24)! I switch out lip gloss like I switch out socks! I am truly fickle. Luckily for me, I heard that Bonne Bell Lip Lites has a similar color ($3)!! I swatched the two, and wanted to show you the results.

They are very similar, but as you can see, the Bonne Bell Lip Lites in Strawberry Parfait is a little deeper of a pink.

Here are both glosses applied lightly (similar to how you would apply to the lips.) They are both very sheer, and look very similar to each other when applied lightly. The Bonne Bell shows up even better than Turkish Delight.


Texture wise- The Bonne Bell version is very light and not sticky, just like the NARS Turkish Delight. The one difference is the smell. Bonne Bell is very sweet smelling, which may be bothersome to some. I really like it and it tastes GREAT!! =)
