Dry Shampoo

When I have long hair, I find it hard to shampoo it everyday. Besides it being a bit of a pain, it isn't necessarily healthy to wash your hair everyday. When you wash your hair on a daily basis, it strips it of natural oils. This can cause dry hair, and split ends. Although it is preferable to wash your hair every other day, when you exercise, it isn't always hygienic to do so. I highly recommend a dry shampoo in this case. They usually come in a spray, and are sprayed at the root and rubbed in. They help absorb excess oil at the scalp, which leaves the hair feeling temporarily clean.
I have chosen my favorite Dry Shampoos:
Ojon Rub-Out $24- Perfect for in between washes, smells great and work very well.

Klorane Dry Shampoo $16- With oat extract, this cleanses without water in seconds.

Tips For Growing Your Hair

Brush Carefully- Brush your hair before you shower in the morning to reduce tangling and potential breakage. Let your hair dry naturally and do not brush it while it's wet.
Use Hot Tools In Moderation- Avoid over processing or heating your hair. This will cause breakage, and slow the growth process.
Proper Nutrition- Consider taking supplements like Vitamin B (Biotin, or non-flush Niacin.) Be sure you are eating a proper diet rich with whole grains, protein, fruits and veggies. Iron deficiencies can cause hair loss, and Studies have shown that women with heavier monthly cycles tend to be low in iron. Check with your doctor if you think that might be the case.
Try Phytophanere Dietary Supplement - Hair & Nails by Phyto (available at Sephora.com) These are my favorite Hair & Nail Vitamins.

Avoid Dramatic Weight Loss- A side affect of most eating disorders is losing your hair. Be sure that you always maintain a healthy calorie intake (at least 1200 calories) of whole grains, protein, fruits, and veggies.

Best Bangs For Your Face Shape

Square Shape Face: Ask your stylist to trim the bang just below the brow. Leave the heavier pieces on the sides so they don’t cover your eyes. The center strands should be feathery with a little forehead visible.
Round Shape Face: Ask for a thick, curved bang. Wispy bangs don't work as well for round face shapes, but a thick bang will compliment your face and avoid accentuating a round face.
Heart Shape Face: Blunt bangs can make this face shape look top heavy. Choose a side sweep bang, which looks great with this face shape.
Oval Shape Face: Any fringe bang will work for an oval-shaped face. Ask for bangs that hit between the brow and lashes. You can also sweep this bang length to the side.

Increase The Beauty Benefits Of Your Daily Shower

Did you know that there is chlorine in the water of virtually every shower you take? That chlorine dries out your hair and skin, and strips you hair color. Purchasing a shower filter can greatly reduce the drying affects of the water.
Consider purchasing a shower filter like this one from JonathanProducts.com ($95). It will make a huge difference in the overall health and vitality of your skin and hair.

Make Your Hair Color Last Longer
It is a big investment to color your hair, and do it right. One of the downsides of coloring your hair, is that the color itself tends to fade fast. This is especially true if you use shampoos that contain sodium lauryl sulfate, which not only stripts your hair of color, it also dries it out. Ojon’s new Color Sustain line solves the problem of fading color by incorporating it’s well known Ojon oil and Tahitian monoi oil in its shampoo, conditioner, color protecting cream and hair spray. The hair is instantly sealed and more protected from water and other environmental stressors. Plus, ojon oil is rich in other "hair healing" oils, for maximum health and shine. How To Avoid Split Ends
Split ends are unsightly and annoying. There are the obvious ways to avoid split ends, like getting a regular trim, but how can you avoid them on a daily basis?
1. Use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, and concentrate on your ends. Allow the conditioner to sit in the hair, while doing other things in the shower, for up to ten minutes.
Always rinse with cool water, which will seal the cuticle and give you beautiful shine.
2. Use a wide tooth comb to detangle your hair.
3. Use a shine serum and evenly distribute it through your hair., focus on the ends to avoid split ends.
4. Always use a heat protectant when blow drying or flat ironing your hair.

How to trim your own bangs
Most hairstylists offer free bang cuts, so take advantage of that. If you are in a pinch, here is what you can do. 1. Be sure you have scissors meant for cutting hair. Tweezerman carry great hair-cutting scissors. 2. Be sure your hair is dry; hair is slightly longer when wet. 3. Hold bangs taut between your index and middle finger, and trim in small increments. Since you are holding your bangs taut, don't go shorter than the bridge of your nose. 4. Lastly, Trim your bangs vertically (holding the scissors vertically.) This gives the bangs more texture instead of being blunt. Image Courtesy Of: EvokeSalons.com

Hair Products For Your Hair Type
Thin Hair- Try Ojon Thickening Spray. Packed with hair thickening proteins, and ginseng for volume, you will feel like a whole new person! For thin hair, stay away from serums, and look for sprayable shine serums. This will give your hair the shine without the grease. Thick Hair- Thick hair can tend to look dull and dry. Try a lightweight serum, and apply to damp hair. You can also apply a little serum to dry hair. Be sure you are conditioning your hair, and treating your hair with leave-in masks often. This will bring the lustre, and life back to dry hair. Wavy Hair- Pick a cream that will give the hair texture. Try Icon Mesh ($16) in damp hair, for a nice texture. If you choose to straighten your hair, be sure to use a quality heat protectant. Pureology Colour Stylist Antisplit Blowdry ($28) is a fabulous choice.
Curly Hair- For curly hair, gel is your best option. Gel gives you the most control.
Also, as with wavy hair, be sure you are conditioning and doing deep moisturizing treatments often. Fekkai Shea Butter Mask ($22.50) is an excellent choice.
When straightening curly hair, is is essential that you use a proper heat protectant.

Beautiful Hair Secrets Unlocked

1.Dry Shampoo Baby- Washing your hair everyday is not the best idea, but dry shampoos can be expensive. Try a little sprinkle of baby powder at the roots of your hair and gently rub it in. It will absorb any excess oil or un-wanted shine.
2.Natural Dry- Let your hair naturally dry after a shower, for best results. If you must blow dry, use your fingers and not a brush. This will prevent breakage!
3.Bang Bang- Bangs work for almost every face shape and can change your whole look in an instant. Consider bangs if you want to change up your look!
4.Workout Wash- If you exercise every day, you can simply rinse your hair with warm water and gently massage the scalp, instead of washing with shampoo. This will save your hair from the drying effects of shampoo. Feel free to use a conditioner to give you the fresh scent of a regular washing.
5.Fight Frizz- You can reduce frizz and amp up shine with a spray serum. This will give you a beautiful look, without being greasy!

3. Add one crushed aspirin to your shampoo and wash as normal. This gives the hair brilliant shine, and prevents from damage.
Note: You can also make an Aspirin face mask to aid in acne. Add one crushed asprin with a little water and make into a paste. Apply to infected area, and let sit for 15 minutes.
2. As you are about to finish your shower turn the water to cold and rinse your hair in cool water. Not only does this make your hair shiny, but it aids in circulation as well.

Change Up Your Hairstyle Without The Scissors

Try a side part- Simply parting your hair to the side can change your look. When your hair falls across your forehead, it draws attention to your eyes and cheekbones!
Use Hair Products- Keep your hair looking healthy and youthful by regularly treating it with a hair mask, and using a shine serum before you style your hair.
Change It Up- If you usually wear your hair down, pull it back. If you normally wear your hair up, start wearing it down. Also, if you normally have curly hair, start wearing it straight and vice-versa. Change up the way you style your hair often to keep yourself looking youthful.
